The church before the rain

I usually make an effort to avoid talking or writing about the weather, but this year we have had an unusually short winter in MontrĂ©al, and now it feels more like the end of April than mid-March: there is no more snow in the streets and our sunny week came to an end with some showers. I managed to do this sketch of the church before the rain came. It was a very pleasant time that to spend with my daughter, a real urbansketcher-in-a-bud.

I love the way you have used just the one colour, quite a bright one, and yet have still managed to get such an excellent balance in your sketch.

What a lovely drawing - next your daughter will need to scan and post her version with your! What a terrific way to bond.

yet another beautiful illustration. It may seem simple but at the same time it's got so much details and complexity. I love paintings like that! Great job with the perspective, and beautifully crafted skyline ^^

Beautiful sketch and love your choice of color for the sky. It is a nice surprise to read that you are in Montreal, if you hear about a sketch-crawl let me know please!

Beautiful sketch! The only reason your winter was short was because I believe the earth's axis is tilted and we in the southeastern US are now where ya'll used to be. lol! I think it's great that you can spend time with your daughter doing what you both love to do. If you go back to sketch again, I'd love to see the results of that visit, too.
