Fruit cravings

This week my body was really craving for lots of fresh fruit, but instead of heading to the market in the first place, I went to dig into my desk drawers to find this sketch from the 2007 sketchbook...

I always scan pencil drawing in RGB and you can adjust them after or while scanning to there is more contrast. I own Photoshop but you probably have some software that you can use to make them about 430 pixels wide and 72 dpi. Them use "save to web" and it will make nice small gifs for you! Let me know if you have more questions on this!

I know exactly what you're talking about and finally figured out why pencil scans so much lighter than the original. It's because graphite is shiny and reflects the light. So, my scanner has a place to adjust highlights, shadows, and midtones. When I get it to where I like it, I hit "accept" and it scans. I'm not sure about all scanners, but mine is an HP 1350. You do wonderful, wonderful work!

Lovely sketch!
I don't even have a scanner, I simply use my digital camera, snap it at medium-high resolution, and tweak it with Picasa as it's simple to use(although I am sure Gimp has a lot more control). I like to save time doing all these =)

Nice outdoor sketch. The tents are well done. I did a drawing like that recently myself, waiting for color. I scrolled down your blog and see a lot of good stuff here!
